Stanford making a run for the Senate!
September 23, 2011 - 6:12pm / ben.waltersThis was an exciting week and I took pleasure in meeting alot of new people and engaging numerous college students in the excitement that comes with getting involved in the political process. I spent a few days in Jackson, Mississippi on the campus of Mississippi College. This campus is home to lots of conservative students but the population is relatively small. One of the Vice Presidents of Mississippi College is Steve Stanford who is running for Senate in District 29. He is looking like he may defy the odds as he looks to unseat a democratic incumbant while balancing a heavy workload of obligations with Mississippi College. Check out his campaign here: http://www.stevestanford.ms/
You can also check out the campaign on FB: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Steve-Stanford/185942078095968
One of the great things about this campaign is that it gives the College Republicans at MC the opportunity to not only campaign for a solid conservative candidate but to also see their own Vice President be elected to the Senate in Jackson. In the next couple of weeks I will get alot of the students heavily involved with this campaign so that we can get our voters out to the polls on election day so that Dr. Stanford becomes Senator Stanford.
I should be in Hattiesburg for this upcoming week wrapping up recruiting efforts and working with the wonderful ladies at the Forrest/Lamar County Woman's Republican organization to officially open a victory office in Hattiesburg!
