Outstanding Conservative Leadership in VA
August 22, 2011 - 2:04pm / grace.craigWith Operation Red November officially underway, I find myself increasingly impressed with the Conservative Movement within the Commonwealth of Virginia. In particular, over the course of this week, one leader has stood out as someone who the rest of the country should be looking to as an example of strong Conservative leadership. The man I’m referring to is Governor Bob McDonnell of Virginia.
Governor McDonnell has been on the media’s radar this past week after assuming the position of Chairman of the RGA. Having Governor McDonnell as a leader among other Conservatives is going to be incredibly beneficial for our nation, in my opinion. The Governor recently announced a $544.8 million surplus for 2011. Additionally, Governor McDonnell has successfully decreased Virginia’s unemployment rate to 6% since assuming office. Because of Governor McDonnell’s success, a national study recently named Virginia the Top Pro-Business State for the third year in a row.
Governor McDonnell clearly sees the value of the ideas that Operation Red November is trying to promote. He realizes the need for a Conservative approach to getting our economy back on track. Virginia and its Conservative leadership have been able to rise above obstacles brought about by President Obama. Governor McDonnell needs to be the standard for the rest of the nation as we choose new local leaders this November and a new President in 2012.
