One week in the Old Dominion

August 23, 2011 - 2:50am / ross.hemminger

I've often heard people of an older generation tell me that they fear for the future. "Your generation," they tell me, "just doesn't care, they're selfish." I'm sure you've all heard the same thing from your grandparents or your aunts and uncles.

I wish the people who have said that could have spent the past week with me, meeting members of Virginia's College Republicans, and meeting with campaign staffers and volunteers. Dedicated, intelligent, hardworking indiviuals, almost all of them in their early 20's. Nothing should be more reassuring than helping this next generation of America's leaders work to return conservative principles and leadership to the Virginia Senate.

The conservative movement has a promising future in the Old Dominion. Republican Governor Bob McDonnell has retained a high popularity rating, despite the poor polling numbers currently plauging other GOP Governors. Former Governor and US Senator George Allen has an excellent chance to take back his former seat, and Republicans stand a very good chance at taking back the Virginia Senate, which fell into Democratic hands in 2007.

People on the ground here in Virginia are fired up. They're ready to take back their state. They're ready to send people to Richmond who aren't professional politicans. They're ready for leaders to go to Richmond and stand up for conservative principles and vaules.

I'm looking forward to making it a RED NOVEMBER here in Virginia!

On To Victory,

Ross

I pledge to make this a Red November
