Gov. Christie & Gov. Daniels Visit Rider University
September 23, 2011 - 10:58am / swilliams@crnc.orgYesterday, Governors Chris Christie & Mitch Daniels spoke at Rider University. Although they were there for a very short time, it was a great opportunity for College Republicans in the area to get together. CRs from Rider, TCNJ, and Rutgers (New Brunswick) attended the event with the Governors and afterwards enjoyed a luncheon for current and prospective College Republicans.
Governors Christie and Daniels spoke about the current candidates running for president; neither seem sastisfied about the candidates, but neither want to enter the race themselves. The two focused on national issues and the problems with the current candidates. They took a few questions from the crowd and Rider College Republicans Charles Measley and Mike Ward were each able to ask the Governors questions. There was an overall strong turnout of College Republicans at the event.
After the event all of the College Republicans in attendance gathered for a small luncheon. It was a great way for everyone to network with each other, go over some successful recruiting techniques and plan some volunteer opportonuties. This exciting event was able to bring together some dedicated CRs that are working to making this a Red November!
