Christie On Top
September 5, 2011 - 6:59pm / swilliams@crnc.orgRecent polls show that Governor Christie has outstanding ratings after his successful handling of hurricane Irene. The Governor ordered a mandatory evacuation of shore towns prior to hurricane Irene as a precaution for people's safety. Although Irene was not as severe as most news stations reported, the residents of New Jersey were grateful for Governor Christie's prudence with their safety. He visited several hurricane shelters and many people were quoted as being extremely appreciativeof the Governor's efforts to protect them. Now that the hurricane has passed and the flooding has diminished and almost all the residents of New Jersey have their power restored, the Governor is telling people to get back to the beach and enjoy the remaining days of summer. This was a clear win for the Governor, especially after last winter when he went to Florida during the biggest blizzard of the season instead of staying in his state and managing his office's response to the people's needs. Even the president visited New Jersey this past weekend and acknowledged the Governor's superb response to the crisis.
