Barack Obama is not part of my Wolfpack

Many know the line I am talking about... Alan’s infamous speech in the movie, The Hangover. He was a one-man Wolfpack, but when he met the guys, he immediately knew his Wolfpack had grown by two. This past week, President Barack Obama made a campaign stop at my alma mater (and Zach Galifianakis’): North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC, Home of the Wolfpack. But, sadly, my Wolfpack did not grow by one, nor did it grow for many in our generation. Barack Obama is not part of my Wolfpack.
Though technically he’s not campaigning (yet), his visit was to garner support for his omnibus spending package that he believes will create jobs (and save his own), the American Jobs Act. North Carolina is going to be a huge battleground state in 2012 and he needs the continued support from our generation. So, a good ole visit to the Land of the Pines and an audience of 9,300 college students, faculty members, and local residents makes for a good backdrop to keep selling the same (worn out) song and dance. But, many are realizing his same failed policies, broken promises, and out of control spending problems are bankrupting our nation, along with our generation. And as Alex Schriver, CRNC Chairman, wrote in his recent op-ed in The Daily Caller, “Unemployment is perhaps the most glaring problem facing millennials. While the recession has been difficult for everyone, workers aged 16-24 have been hit disproportionately hard. Though young adults represent a mere 13.5 percent of the workforce, they account for 26.4 percent of all unemployed workers,” results of Obama’s failed policies and empty promises.
I, like many others, am not welcoming Barack Obama to my Wolfpack. That’s why I have committed to making this November a Red November, as well as November 2012. Will you?
